OSM Aviation is playing an active role as the entire aviation industry is pulling together to limit the spread of COVID-19. Protecting the well-being of staff and aviation personnel is priority number one for CEO Espen Høiby, who co-founded the company seven years ago. At the same time, he and his team are now focusing on taking the right steps to make sure that the company can continue to build on its strong position once the world returns to normal.
Espen Høiby CEO OSM Aviation
The corona pandemic has hit the aviation industry particularly hard, and the situation affects us. We are working around the clock to live up to our motto; “it’s all about people” and in delivering on our mission of contributing to our customers’ success. I am incredibly impressed by the team spirit, flexibility and loyalty demonstrated by all our people in this difficult situation, Høiby says.
In response to airline operational shutdowns across the globe due to the corona pandemic, OSM Aviation is temporarily scaling down operations in several parts of the world. The company is working closely with its main clients – international airline companies – to handle the situation in the best way possible. Measures vary from country to country, depending on national laws and regulations, as well as government emergency response schemes.
Unfortunately, temporary suspensions or terminations are inevitable, but I have told all our employees that our goal is to bring people back onboard as soon as possible. I strongly believe that the demand for our services will be even greater after this crisis than before. Our ambitions remain unchanged. We want to further develop our position as an attractive employer and partner, Høiby says.
OSM Aviation entered the market in 2013, with an ambition to renew the aviation industry through a new business model. OSM Aviation is the first company to offer Total Crew Management, a full range of recruitment, training and management services for the aviation industry. The company now runs pilot academies in Norway, Sweden and the United States and is also engaged in drone pilot training and unmanned aviation.
